We created Everblue on January 1, 2018 to bridge the gap between marine science and YOU! Our founder Ellie Jones formed the initial backbone of the organization and sought out equally passionate people she met along her educational journey to create our team. Since that day, Everblue has reached over 1,000 followers, spanning Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. We have also led educational programs, presented at conferences around the globe, and partnered with other organizations with the same mind to promote ocean science and conservation.
We started during our founder Ellie’s time as an undergraduate student at the University of Oregon. Many of our initial team members were also students, passionate about using their education to teach others about human effects on the ocean.
Since then, we have grown to a nationally-recognized ocean science communication organization, and have partners and supporters in Oregon, California, Washington, North Carolina, the British Channel Island of Guernsey, and Singapore. We are currently pending 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, and plan to be fully incorporated as a nonprofit in the State of Oregon in April of 2020. Stay tuned for more!
